It is an irrefutable fact that group ideology or opinion, in
this contemporary world, has become an integral part and parcel of our society.
Considering this, whether a common man suffers from a group’s ideology or not
is a matter of discussion. However, this essay will examine both sides of the
argument before deducing a reasonable conclusion.
There are numerous factors wherein the fact that group’s
ideology negatively/adversely affects the common people. Firstly,
marring/damaging the economy of the nation could be a significant factor to be
considered. It is generally seen that in the war of ideas such as wars, the
economy slows down, which compromises the basic needs of the common people
resulting in their sufferings. For example, a recent article/survey in The Age
revealed that 80% of the people agree that group’s ideology affects the commoners
by slowing the economy. Additionally, common man faces the actual consequences
could be another substantial factor behind this viewpoint.
Despite the above mentioned/aforementioned factors regarding
the negative impact of group’s ideology for general people, there are some
people who propose that it does not make common man suffer is even a crucial
aspect. Long term benefits may be a noteworthy factor to be taken into account.
It is commonly believed that sometimes the opposition to a particular ideology
is not only better but also compulsory for the generations to come, such as the
war of independence for certain countries.
In the end, indeed, group’s ideology does not affect the
commoners may be true; however, as far as I am concerned, in most cases, it does have serious
implications on the common people’s lives.
